Maintenance TechnicianUnder the direction of the Lead Maintenance Technician and production and maintenance manager, assists with maintaining and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components of production equipment and machines; installs and repairs electrical components of industrial equipment and machinery; performs all preventive maintenance functions; and ensures maintenance of buildings and grounds.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Visually inspects and listen to equipment and machines to locate causes of malfunctionsTroubleshoots equipment to determine cause of breakdownDismantles equipment and machines to gain access to problem areaRepairs equipment and machines and tests their operation following repairInstalls power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed or relocated equipment and machinesAssists contractors with repairsAssists electrician with connecting power supply wires to equipment and machines and connects cables and wires between equipment and machinesReplaces faulty electrical components of equipment and machines such as relays, switches and motorsDiagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical components such as printed circuit boardsPerforms structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishing of buildingsAssists with the requisitioning of tools, equipment and suppliesInspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications and standardsComplies with company policies and safety regulations for workers at all timesPerforms preventative maintenance and repair work orders on buildings and equipmentMaintains accurate records and documentation in maintenance softwareConfers with supervisor to coordinate work activitiesRequires supervisionDemonstrates and practices the CREED values consistentlyQualification Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience:Preferred education to include an Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 year experience with shop tools to include but not limited to: PLC programing and devices, grinder, saws, heat treating, HVAC, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, electrical components, basic carpentry tools, etc.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete in situations where only limited standardization exists. May need help with interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Other Skills and Abilities:Employee is learning to properly operate all types of equipment throughout the plant and is being taught to understand all plant systems-electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc…Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and inside and outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The temperature in the factory may vary from 70 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter to 110 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer. Employees may get dirty with grease and oil.
