Make an Impact.Diversified Personnel Services (DPS) is exclusively recruiting for a Maintenance Technician for a well-established organization in the Fort Atkinson, WI area.This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, figuring out why something isn't working, and keeping equipment and facilities operating safely and reliably. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, automated, and facility systems while supporting a busy production environment where no two days are exactly the same.If you're mechanically inclined, comfortable troubleshooting production equipment, and take pride in fixing problems the right way, this could be a great next step.What You'll DoAs a Maintenance Technician, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the facility while working with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and keep equipment performing as it should.Mechanical SystemsPerform preventive maintenance and repairs on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and material handling systems.Replace bearings, belts, couplings, and other drive components as needed.Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failures and escalate concerns when additional support is needed.Assist with basic fabrication and welding of components and equipment guards.Troubleshoot mechanical problems and help identify the underlying cause of recurring equipment issues.Electrical SystemsTroubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480VAC within appropriate training and safety requirements.Perform continuity testing and replace fuses, circuit protection devices, and related components.Diagnose motor control and VFD issues using multimeters and other testing equipment.Inspect electrical panels and wiring for damaged, worn, or unsafe conditions.Test and replace components including contactors, transformers, and overloads.Automation & ControlsSupport troubleshooting of automated equipment, sensors, and limit switches.Perform basic PLC I/O checks and assist with ladder logic troubleshooting.Monitor HMI screens to identify alarms and equipment conditions and communicate findings appropriately.Work with other maintenance and production team members to resolve equipment issues and restore production.Facility & InfrastructurePerform general facility maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, basic carpentry, painting, and repairs.Support dock equipment, security systems, fire protection systems, lighting, and other facility infrastructure.Assist with office renovations, equipment installations, and contractor or vendor coordination.Perform maintenance on material handling machinery, mobile equipment, and other supporting equipment throughout the facility.Safety, Documentation & Continuous ImprovementSafety and accurate documentation are important parts of this position. You'll be expected to:Follow OSHA, Arc Flash, and Lockout/Tagout requirements at all times.Complete work orders and document maintenance activity, downtime, and parts usage within the CMMS.Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement efforts.Assist with root cause analysis to identify why equipment failures occur, not simply repair the immediate problem.Communicate equipment concerns, recurring issues, and potential risks to the appropriate team members.Work collaboratively with production and other departments to improve equipment reliability and production uptime.What You BringWe're looking for someone with hands-on industrial maintenance experience who can work with a moderate level of independence while also knowing when to ask questions or involve additional resources. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting, approaches problems methodically, and can move between planned preventive maintenance and unexpected equipment repairs throughout the day.Qualifications & Experience2–5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma preferred.Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, belts, couplings, and drive components.Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and components using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.Working knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, contactors, transformers, overloads, and related electrical components.Exposure to automated equipment and controls, including sensors, limit switches, PLC I/O, ladder logic, and HMI systems.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and parts diagrams.Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices within an industrial environment.Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, OSHA requirements, and safe industrial maintenance practices.Experience documenting maintenance activity through a CMMS or similar maintenance system.Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.Ability to troubleshoot beyond the immediate repair and help identify the cause of recurring equipment problems.Ability to communicate equipment concerns clearly and work effectively with production employees, leadership, vendors, and other departments.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Windows.Preferred Training & CertificationsElectrical SafetyForklift and Aerial LiftLockout/Tagout and Arc FlashPLC programming or troubleshootingEPA 608 HVACWeldingCMMS systemsOSHA 10Physical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and working with tools and small components.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.Ability to work around moving machinery, moderate industrial noise, and occasional heights.Ability to safely perform maintenance work in and around production equipment.Required use of appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.Why This Opportunity?This isn't a maintenance position where you'll spend every day doing the same thing.
