Job Description
The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that manufactured products, including aerial lifts and related components, consistently meet established quality standards and specifications. This position conducts thorough inspections and tests throughout the production process, documents and reports non-conformities, and collaborates closely with production, engineering, and other teams to maintain and continuously improve quality control procedures.

Work Environment
This role is based in a shop environment focused on manufacturing and assembly work. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with approximately 48 hours of work expected per week. There is potential for a second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., depending on operational needs. The environment involves hands-on work with mechanical and electrical assemblies, tools, and equipment, and requires comfort working around production activities and heavy machinery.

Job Description
The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that manufactured products, including aerial lifts and related components, consistently meet established quality standards and specifications. This position conducts thorough inspections and tests throughout the production process, documents and reports non-conformities, and collaborates closely with production, engineering, and other teams to maintain and continuously improve quality control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with established quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Conduct visual inspections, precise measurements, and functional tests on a variety of products, including aerial lifts and related mechanical and electrical components.
- Document and report non-conformities, defects, and deviations from quality standards in a clear and timely manner, and collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues during both design and manufacturing phases.
- Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of quality control procedures, standards, and guidelines to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of inspection results, testing data, and other quality control documentation for traceability and audit purposes.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits, providing technical support, documentation, and expertise as required.
- Collaborate with suppliers to verify the quality of incoming materials and components and help address any supplier-related quality concerns.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments to perform inspections, calibrations, and adjustments as needed.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure proper assembly, installation, and functionality of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Support mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and general production activities by identifying and reporting quality issues related to valves, pneumatics, wiring, and other components.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair activities on mechanical, electrical, and automotive-style systems to resolve quality-related problems.
- Contribute to fabrication, welding, installation, and calibration tasks by verifying that work meets established quality and safety standards.
- Perform general labor tasks associated with the inspection and verification of engines, assemblies, and related equipment as needed.
- Proven experience in quality control within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles, techniques, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations related to product quality and safety.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying defects and root causes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools and testing equipment for inspections and calibrations.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with mechanical assemblies, valves, engines, and related components.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and automotive-type systems.
- Ability to perform quality inspections on electrical wiring, electrical assemblies, and pneumatic systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or vocational training in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and production processes.
- Experience in welding, fabrication, installation, and repair work is an asset.
- Experience with automotive repair, engine work, and general labor in a shop or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of calibration practices for tools, instruments, and equipment.
- Familiarity with pneumatics, valves, and related systems used in industrial or lifting equipment.
- Comfort working with aerial lifts or similar heavy equipment is beneficial.
