CT Technologist - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing diagnostic imaging services to patients using various imaging modalities, ensuring accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and optimal patient care. The technologist prioritizes patient education by explaining procedures, equipment, and exams clearly to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment while adhering to prescribed radiation safety procedures.
• Position patients for CT scans using appropriate patient positioning devices and protective equipment.
• Perform exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols established with the Radiologist.
• Assist Radiologist with routine and interventional CT procedures.
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images, and transmit images to the Image Archival System.
• Administer oral contrast to patients for CT scans and demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration.
• Exhibit advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including X-ray and Fluoroscopy.
• Practice radiation safety and troubleshoot equipment problems effectively.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR, including charging procedures and supplies.
• Assist in clerical duties, patient transportation, and the training of imaging staff members as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program - Required
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT) - Required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer) - Required
• Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing CT Technologist - Preferred
• Cross-trained into other modalities, including MRI, DEXA, and Mammography - Preferred
• Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS - Preferred
