About the Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to connect the shop floor with customer

service, production planning, and inventory control. This person will keep everyone informed about order status, help set and communicate production priorities, and work across teams to resolve the material and scheduling issues that can delay orders.

The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of manufacturing, understands supply chain challenges, and communicates clearly with people in every part of the business. This is a coordination role that calls for initiative, sound judgment, and a team-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production priorities with shop floor personnel and office staff.
• Track order progress and provide customer service with accurate status updates and expected completion dates.
• Work with production and inventory control to identify material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and capacity constraints.
• Follow up on open issues and bring the right people together to keep orders moving.
• Communicate changes in customer needs, delivery dates, or production plans promptly and clearly.
• Help maintain accurate order, production, and inventory information in company systems.
• Anticipate how supplier delays and other supply chain challenges may affect production commitments.
• Identify practical ways to improve communication and workflow between the shop and office.

Required Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical understanding of manufacturing processes and how materials, inventory, scheduling, and shop floor capacity affect customer orders.
• Experience coordinating work or solving problems across production and office teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and follow issues through to resolution.
• Comfort using spreadsheets and business software to track orders, production, or inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in production planning, inventory control, purchasing, or customer order management.
• Experience using an ERP or MRP system.
• Experience in metal fabrication or a similar manufacturing setting.
• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree or relevant technical training. Equivalent practical experience is equally welcome.
