This role offers the opportunity to support innovative projects within the energy storage and advanced manufacturing sectors while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.Work may take place in a hybrid environment, including office locations, client sites, and remote settings, depending on project and business needs. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and delivery of engineering consulting services related to energy storage systems, with support and resources available to foster professional development, technical leadership, and business growth.ResponsibilitiesLead and support energy storage system safety projects across a variety of industries and applicationsManage projects involving lithium-ion battery manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, and related technologiesMentor, train, and support team members and new hires through knowledge sharing and technical guidanceContribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal tools, processes, and methodologiesReview and interpret testing and engineering reports, including thermal runaway testing such as UL 9540A, to support facility safety strategies and mitigation conceptsPartner with clients and internal stakeholders to develop practical, risk-informed safety solutionsSupport business development initiatives by building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for growthCollaborate with leadership to execute strategic initiatives and expand service offeringsRequirements and QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related technical fieldMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial safety, process safety, energy storage systems, or related industriesProfessional Engineer (P.E.), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar certification is preferred but not requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiencesDemonstrated experience managing industrial or process safety projects within energy storage, battery manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, or related technical environmentsPreferred Areas of ExperienceExperience in one or more of the following areas is beneficial, though candidates are not expected to have expertise in every area:Energy storage safety standards and applications (e.g., NFPA 855)Emergency preparedness and response planningHazard mitigation and risk analysisElectrical safetyFire protection and fire safety engineeringExplosion prevention and control systemsRisk assessments and modeling methodologies, including bowtie analysisEngineering simulation and consequence modeling tools such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), fire and smoke modeling, or plume modelingAdditional InformationOccasional travel may be required, up to approximately 25%Jensen Hughes is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute their perspectives and experiencesWe encourage individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to apply, even if every qualification listed is not met#LI-BD1Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting and not a guarantee of compensation.
