Constructability Review Specialist (General)

Los Angeles, CA | $200,000–$212,000 per year | Must live locally or be willing to relocate

Do you have extensive experience delivering complex public, educational, or large commercial construction projects? Are you confident reviewing designs and spotting issues before they become costly problems on site?

We’re looking for an experienced Constructability Review Specialist to support major projects in the Los Angeles area. You’ll work closely with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during preconstruction, helping ensure designs are coordinated, practical, and ready for construction.

The role

You’ll review project requirements and construction documents, identify potential issues, and help reduce RFIs, change orders, delays, and design conflicts before construction begins.

Duties

• Assist in defining and reviewing the Project Requirement Document, scope of work, schedule, and interim housing requirements.
• Make value engineering recommendations at the outset of design.
• Review design deliverables to identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions.
• Ensure documents are properly coordinated between design disciplines.
• Prepare comprehensive constructability reviews of pre-bid construction documents.
• Coordinate reviews collaboratively with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

You must have 15 years of full-time, paid professional experience through one of the following routes:

• Architecture degree, with 10 years as a Construction Administrator and 5 years as a Designer. Construction Administration experience must include full responsibility supporting public/educational facility projects valued at $8M+ individually or $80M+ cumulatively; or
• 15 years as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager with full responsibility for coordinating public/educational facilities and/or large commercial projects. Experience must include projects valued at $30M+ individually and $400M+ cumulatively; or
• A minimum of two years of college-level coursework from a recognized college, university, or trade school, with five additional years of experience substituted for the educational requirement.

You’ll also need to:

• Work quickly, efficiently, and confidently.
• Be proficient in writing RFCs and reviewing submittals and change orders.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and similar programs.
• You must currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Los Angeles, CA area.
