Position Overview As a Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician , you will service, maintain, and repair commercial and supermarket refrigeration systems in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role is ideal for a self‑motivated technician who takes pride in high‑quality work and can operate independently while representing Five Star Refrigeration with professionalism. What You’ll Do Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and supermarket refrigeration systems, including: Rack systems Walk‑in coolers and freezers Reach‑ins and self‑contained equipment Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and performance Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision Work safely and in compliance with all company and industry safety standards Provide excellent customer service in a 24/7 service environment, including participation in an on‑call rotation Work with multiple refrigerants while maintaining EPA and regulatory compliance Accurately document service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities Support additional service areas as business needs require Perform other duties as assigned by leadership What We’re Looking For 3+ years of hands‑on commercial HVAC/refrigeration experience Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently Technical training through an apprenticeship, trade school, RSES program, or equivalent field experience EPA Certification (required) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and customer‑focused mindset What We Offer Competitive pay with a top‑tier benefits package Immediate, subsidized medical insurance 401(k) with company match Company‑paid life insurance and short‑ and long‑term disability Ongoing training and development (internal and external) Leadership and career advancement opportunities Fully stocked and maintained company vehicle Gas card and company spending card Paid vacation and holidays Smart Care is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
