We are accepting applications for Facility Maintenance Technician I, II, and III . Only one vacancy exists and will be filled at the appropriate classification level based on the successful candidate's qualifications, experience, and ability to meet the minimum requirements of the position.
Under general supervision, employees holding this position perform moderately complex inspections, maintenance, and repairs on Town facilities through performing a variety of maintenance and repair duties involving heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical work, carpentry, plumbing and painting to maintain Town facilities. This position differs from the Facility Maintenance Technician I position in the classification series by performing more difficult, complex, or irregular tasks with more independence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs the job functions detailed in the Facilities Maintenance Technician I job description.
- Performs drywall, painting and completion of small projects.
- Performs electrical maintenance such as replacement or repair of fixtures, wall switches, outlets, ballast, sockets, breakers, minor appliances, cords, and other electrical equipment with no voltage limitations (knowledgeable in 12V, 70V, 110V, 208V, 220V & 480V).
- Utilizes advanced carpentry and fabrication skills to assemble, construct and erect structures.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics and technical manuals to complete maintenance tasks.
- Works within HVAC Building Automation software to operate and diagnose HVAC equipment faults, maintenance and repairs.
- Inspects and tests plumbing fixtures and equipment, for malfunctions.
- Troubleshoots and repairs complex systems.
- Assists in training level one staff.
- Knowledge of facilities, maintenance and repair methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Town and Department policies, procedures and safety practices.
- Ability to maintain records and perform mathematical computations.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Ability to utilize diagnostic and special equipment to identify faults.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures related to maintenance activities and use of maintenance tools.
- Skill in troubleshooting and testing building systems.
- Skill in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and documents.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Associates degree in a trade.
- Three (3) years' experience in facilities maintenance including plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC or closely related work.
- Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, gases, and chemicals related to facility maintenance.
- Work is performed primarily in, on, and around facility structures. Field or outside work may expose employees to the following:
- Ambient weather and temperature conditions.
- Heights
- Various work surfaces that may be unimproved, slippery, uneven, and rough.
- Must be willing to work alternate shift arrangements as required per Town's "on call" procedures.
- Work may be performed at various locations.
- Must be able to climb steps and ladders, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift over forty (40) pounds.
- Regular, daily attendance is an essential function for this position.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
- Lift and carry 40 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl.
