The Opportunity:

Join a real estate organization focused on acquiring, managing, and developing properties that deliver long-term value. This opportunity offers a senior accounting professional the chance to support REIT financial reporting, strengthen accounting controls, and contribute to accurate, timely financial statements. Based on site in White Plains, New York, you will partner with colleagues across finance and real estate operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual reporting requirements, including SEC filings and disclosures.
• Manage accounting activities for real estate properties, including reconciliations, accruals, and close processes.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit requests.

Must-Have Skills:

• Active CPA license.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience preparing or supporting SEC filings and public-company reporting.
• Proficiency in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and close processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet reporting deadlines.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with REIT-specific accounting, disclosures, and compliance requirements.
• Exposure to real estate property management or investment accounting.
• Familiarity with enterprise accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
• Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with auditors and cross-functional teams.
