Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a CA RN license and 2+ years of OR experience with Epic charting.

Job Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting,
• 13-week assignment with day shift scheduling (5x8 hours),
• Variable shift start times including 06:30-15:00, 08:30-17:00, and 11:00-18:30,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals,
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required,
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Trauma surgical experience preferred, including amputations, burns, gunshot/stab wounds, and MVA with multiple injuries,
• General surgery experience preferred, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomy, and thyroidectomy,
• Orthopedic experience with arthroscopy and total joint replacement preferred,
• Endoscopic procedure experience preferred, including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, and PEG tube placement/exchange,
• Vascular procedure experience preferred, including carotid endarterectomy and femoral popliteal bypass graft,
• Experience with cell saver equipment preferred,
• Craniotomy experience preferred,
• Cystoscopy and robotics experience with the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred,
• VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery) experience preferred,
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required,
• Copy of certifications required for consideration,
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across general OR and thoracic surgical cases,
• Respond to emergency situations including code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia management,
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility,
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility,
• Travelers are expected to float between sister facilities in the region; refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment,
• Minimal RTO accommodated for this position,
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
