Customer Support Account Manager - Midwest - Chemical/Ethanol [Remote]

Account Manager - Specialty Chemicals - CASE applications - St. Louis/Kansas City

Our client, a growing global leader in the supply of specialty chemicals requires an experienced chemical industry sales professional. The successful candidate will manage sales activities of chemical raw materials including resins, pigments and additives to paint and coatings, adhesive, sealant manufacturers and other industrial applications in a territory which includes MO, KS NE IA and southern IL. This is a home office based position, with approx 40-50% regional travel and the successful candidate must reside in the sales territory.   

• Grow revenue and profit from an existing base of business while generating new leads and closing new sales of specialty chemical raw materials used to make paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants (CASE) and some other industrial applications. 
• Develop successful relationships across multiple levels in the customer's organization with an emphasis on R&D and formulations personnel. 
• Manage all pricing, sales agreements and contracts. 
• Create sales reports and manage all customer information via the CRM system. 
• Develop account plans and coordinate sales activities with other company team members and management. 

Requirements

• Bachelor degree; Chemistry or related science major preferred. 
• At least 5 years experience selling chemical raw materials such as resins, additives, pigments into coatings, adhesive, sealants applications. 
• Prior chemical distribution sales strongly preferred. 
• Demonstrated success in identifying and closing target accounts. 
• Strong interpersonal skills in addition to excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Ability to travel 40-50% within the assigned territory as required.
