Description

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for core financial reporting functions. The Staff Accountant role is located in Lexington, MA and will report to the Director of Accounting & Finance. This position will require proven accounting experience, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, desire to leverage technology to drive efficiencies and strong communication/collaboration skill.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage general ledger accounting functions and ensure a timely and accurate month-end close.

• Perform and maintain account reconciliations and be able to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Manage full cycle Accounts Payable functions, including maintaining Purchase orders.

• Payroll Processing across all entities on a Bi-weekly, Semi monthly and monthly cadences.

• Implement process automation and efficiencies.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP.

• Collaborate and support FP&A in preparing the annual budget and financial forecasts.

• Support external audit and tax preparation.

• Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.

• Post journal entries.

• Reviewing Avalara and NetSuite for multistate sales and use tax filings.

• Cross train on all accounting functions to provide backup as needed.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to identify and prioritize issues.

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• Knowledge of accounting software applications. NetSuite preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university majoring in Accounting, Finance, or Business.

Experience:

• 2+ years of accounting experience and strong working knowledge of US GAAP.

$75,000 - $80,000
