Why This Role Matters

As a Peer Support Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience to:

  • Empower individuals to find their voice and direction
  • Support real-life goals like housing stability, employment, education, and wellness
  • Help build a recovery‑focused, people‑first system of care

Your perspective isn’t just valued—it’s essential.

What You’ll Do

In this community‑based role, you will:

  • Provide one‑on‑one peer support rooted in recovery and self‑determination
  • Coach individuals in wellness, coping skills, daily living skills, and self‑advocacy
  • Help create and use Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), crisis plans, and relapse‑prevention strategies
  • Support individuals in navigating housing, employment, school, and community resources
  • Collaborate with a caring interdisciplinary team that respects and integrates lived experience
  • Be a voice of encouragement, resilience, and possibility
  • Document services accurately and on time to support high‑quality care

What We’re Looking For

  • North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (preferred). Candidates who meet NC certification requirements and are willing to obtain certification upon hire will be supported.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort working in the community
  • Availability to meet with individuals at least 5 days per week
  • Strong communication skills and belief in recovery for all

If you’re compassionate, dependable, and recovery‑driven—we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Love About Working With Us

  • Mission‑driven, recovery‑oriented culture
  • Work that is meaningful, flexible, and people‑centered
  • Ongoing training, supervision, and professional growth
  • The opportunity to make a lasting difference—every single day

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re ready to transform your lived experience into a career that empowers others, apply today and help build stronger, healthier communities through peer support.

Recovery starts with connection—and it starts with you.
