Position SummaryThe Site Lead is responsible for the successful daily operation of the Fairview Scholars of H.O.P.E. Afterschool Program site. This contracted position ensures that scholars, staff members, families, and volunteers experience a safe, structured, welcoming, and engaging program environment.The Site Lead oversees daily site activities, supervises staff and scholars, maintains accurate attendance and meal-count records, communicates with parents and guardians, and ensures program policies and procedures are followed. The Site Lead reports to the Director of Out of School Time Programs and works closely with the Academic and Social-Emotional Learning Site Coordinators to support program quality, scholar engagement, academic enrichment, and scholars' social-emotional development.The ideal candidate is an organized, dependable, and collaborative leader with experience managing people and working with school-age children. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Site Lead will:Manage and oversee the program site's daily operations.Ensure the site is prepared to receive scholars and that all program activities begin and end on schedule.Create and maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and well-organized learning environment.Collaborate with the Academic Site Coordinator to support the effective delivery of academic instruction, enrichment activities, tutoring, and homework assistance.Collaborate with the SEL Site Coordinator to support scholars' social-emotional development, positive behavior, conflict resolution, and overall well-being.Communicate regularly with the Director of Out of School Time Programs regarding site operations, staffing, scholar concerns, family communication, incidents, and other program needs.Welcome scholars upon arrival and oversee dismissal procedures to ensure each scholar is released to an authorized adult or approved transportation provider.Record and maintain accurate daily scholar attendance.Monitor scholar participation, behavior, safety, and overall well-being throughout program hours.Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to site staff.Assign daily staff responsibilities and ensure appropriate coverage for all program spaces and activities.Support staff in implementing academic enrichment, recreation, social-emotional learning, and other scheduled program activities.Model professional conduct, positive communication, teamwork, and appropriate interactions with scholars.Address routine staff, scholar, and site concerns and promptly communicate significant issues to the Director of Out of School Time Programs.Communicate respectfully and consistently with parents and guardians regarding attendance, dismissal, program updates, scholar needs, behavior concerns, and other relevant matters.Oversee volunteers serving at the site, including providing direction, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring appropriate conduct and supervision.Maintain accurate daily meal and snack counts and submit required information to meal partners and program leadership.Ensure meals and snacks are distributed according to program and partner requirements.Maintain organized and accurate program records, including attendance forms, sign-in and sign-out records, incident reports, meal counts, and other required documentation.Ensure classrooms, activity areas, and shared spaces remain clean, safe, and organized.Monitor program supplies and communicate supply or equipment needs to program leadership.Follow all emergency, safety, incident-reporting, and child-protection procedures.Participate in required staff meetings, orientations, training sessions, special events, family activities, and program-planning meetings.Complete additional program responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Out of School Time Programs or Omega CDC leadership. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Candidates must:Hold a college degree from an accredited college or university.Have prior experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role.Have experience working directly with children or youth, preferably in an afterschool, educational, recreational, nonprofit, or community-based setting.Demonstrate the ability to manage daily site operations and provide effective supervision to staff, scholars, and volunteers.Be able to pass required Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background checks.Be available Monday through Friday from 1:30–6:00 p.m. throughout the August 2026–May 2027 contract period.Be available for occasional additional hours, including staff meetings, training sessions, family events, special programs, and other program-related responsibilities.Possess strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and recordkeeping skills.Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with scholars, parents, staff members, volunteers, school personnel, community partners, and program leadership.Demonstrate dependability, sound judgment, flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm when addressing challenges.Be able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team. Preferred QualificationsPreference may be given to candidates who:Have previous experience leading an afterschool or youth-development program.Have experience supervising multiple staff members or volunteers.Have knowledge of positive youth-development practices, classroom management, behavior support, family engagement, and social-emotional learning.Hold current certifications in CPR, first aid, child-abuse recognition, or related health and safety areas. Physical Demands and Work Environment The Site Lead must be able to:Work in an active afterschool environment with school-age children.Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the program site for extended periods.Participate in or supervise indoor and outdoor program activities.Lift and carry program materials and supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation.Respond promptly and appropriately during emergencies or unexpected situations.
