Project Manager

Our client is a premier public works construction firm seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager (PM) to join their team in the Greater Puget Sound region. In this role, you will hold ultimate responsibility for the overall execution, financial performance, and contractual compliance of our commercial landscape projects. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery: Lead all phases of project delivery from pre-construction and procurement through to final project closeout for complex public and private landscape projects. Agency Compliance: Manage design-build and roadside restoration projects, ensuring strict adherence to state specifications (e.g., DOT/WSDOT), environmental permits, SWPPP requirements, and erosion/sediment control measures. Financial Management: Monitor project financials, including cost tracking, monthly billings, and margin performance. Manage change orders, force account work, and claims documentation in accordance with public works requirements. Schedule & Logistics: Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts. Proactively oversee the procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment—paying close attention to long-lead native plant materials and seasonal planting constraints. Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, agency representatives, inspectors, and subcontractors. Field Collaboration: Direct field operations in close coordination with project superintendents to ensure productivity, safety, and high-quality standards are consistently met. Documentation & Administration: Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and project documentation for absolute accuracy. Lead the closeout process, including punch lists, as-builts, final documentation, and client acceptance. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Landscape Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field (equivalent field experience will be considered). Experience: 5–10+ years of dedicated project management experience in commercial or public works construction. Direct experience with landscape or civil/environmental scopes is highly preferred. Agency Experience: Demonstrated experience managing public agency work, utilizing DOT/WSDOT specifications, or overseeing similar public works projects. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of native planting, soil preparation, irrigation systems, and environmental restoration practices. Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in construction project management software (such as Procore, Primavera, or similar) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
