Inpatient Coder

Inpatient CoderWe are seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder with strong AHIMA credentials and extensive inpatient coding experience in Academic/Trauma Level 1 facilities. The ideal candidate will accurately assign ICD codes, ensure coding compliance, and maintain high productivity and quality standards. Role and Responsibilities: Review medical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. Query physicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures when necessary. Utilize electronic encoder applications following coding guidelines and regulations. Perform peer reviews of coding audits and coders. Maintain a minimum coding accuracy of 98% while meeting productivity standards. Prepare reports and ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations. Work collaboratively with managers and team members while adapting to changing procedures. Knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations. Ability to interpret medical records and work independently. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
