Sales Engineer III - Federal

Job Summary The SE III works in concert with Federal Account Executives to ensure customer needs, solutions and deadlines are met. The SE III serves as a technical lead for products and services, building and maintaining relationships with current and future customers. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities for growth and scoping solutions for both products (Bill of Materials) and services (Statements of Work). Position Responsibilities Analyzes customers’ needs and develops short‑term strategies based on knowledge of the customer’s current environment and funding. Collaborates with internal and external sales teams and mutual clients to understand requirements and promote the sales of products and services via presales support. Performs Sales Engineering activities with limited supervision while collaborating with other engineers on best practice methods for research on vendor products. Plans and modifies product configurations (BOMs). Utilizes expertise to streamline and improve Sales and SE processes, recommending improvements to management. Utilizes a consultative approach to drive a collaborative culture that bridges account executives and engineering services. Evaluates vendor capabilities, market trends, and strategic account objectives to inform enterprise network solutions and go‑to‑market collateral. Assists in creating business plans and executing them against target markets, customer profiles, and go‑to‑market solutions. Develops enterprise solutions and go‑to‑market artifacts, including positioning, technical deliverables, sales enablement, and “know how” aligned within T3 & T3G. Leads customer‑facing enterprise network technical activities, including formulation and approval of technical scoping activities. Communicates with cross‑functional teams to create and position company‑unique solutions. Assists in proposal and SOW development, emphasizing validation of technical solution and level of effort. Responds to Federal RFQs, RFIs, MRRs, and RFPs. Delivers assessment and solutions to customers as required. Provides Trace3Gov‑specific enterprise network training and webinars. Travel up to 30% of the time. All other duties as assigned. Evaluates and recommends enterprise network solutions to fulfill client requirements. Has extensive knowledge of federal contracting processes such as engineering estimates, quotes, and proposal responses. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience, or 14 years of relevant experience. Mid‑level Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certificate or higher. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Federal sales experience required. Top Secret DoD Clearance required. Security Clearance Top Secret security clearance REQUIRED Education Technical BA/BS (Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics) or equivalent preferred. Citizenship Requirement U.S. citizenship is required for all positions due to security clearance and federal contracts. Salary and Compensation Salary range: $150,000 - $165,000 USD (actual salary based on factors such as location, experience, skill set, licensure, and performance). Variable incentive compensation may be available.
