Make a difference in students’ lives by supporting their well-being and success within a dedicated K-12 Special Education setting near Pontiac, MI. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 11, 2026, offering the chance to use your expertise as a School Social Worker in a collaborative, student-centered environment. This position is fully onsite, allowing you to directly engage with the school community and faculty.
Qualifications:
- Active Michigan school social worker certification (310) required. Please include a copy with your application.
- Experience working with K-12 populations in a school or special education context highly preferred.
- Familiarity with special education processes, IEP participation, and behavioral intervention planning.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- If a candidate does not currently hold a certification, ensure appropriate supervision is arranged before interviewing (certification verification can be completed through the provided online portal).
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services to students in K-12 special education settings, tailored to support their educational and emotional needs.
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and contribute to the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and related service providers to promote student well-being and enhance educational outcomes.
- Address barriers to learning, facilitate crisis intervention, and serve as an advocate for students within the school setting.
- Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to all state, federal, and district regulations.
