Machine Operator (Saws & Metals Production)

We’re hiring a Machine Operator to join our growing metals manufacturing team. If you have experience operating machinery, working with metal materials, or driving forklifts—and you’re looking for a stable, hands-on role with growth potential—this is a great opportunity.

In this role, you’ll operate manual and automated saws to cut metal materials accurately and safely while supporting efficient production flow.

What You’ll Do

• Operate manual and automated saws to cut metal bar, tube, plate, and structural materials
• Set up equipment by adjusting feeds, speeds, and blade selection
• Monitor cuts for accuracy, finish, and tolerance compliance
• Perform inspections using tape measures, calipers, and gauges
• Bundle and palletize materials using a forklift
• Build pallets as needed for safe handling and storage
• Perform routine maintenance (blade changes, lubrication, cleaning)
• Record production and inspection data accurately
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout
• Work with your team to maintain production flow and meet goals

What We’re Looking For

• Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Forklift experience in an industrial environment
• Ability to use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment (heat, noise, etc.)
• Ability to follow work orders and production instructions

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience with saw operations or metal cutting
• Experience in foundry, metalworking, or continuous cast materials
• Blueprint reading or basic technical interpretation
• Experience with hand tools and general production equipment

Work Environment & Schedule

• Heavy industrial metals facility (continuous cast iron production)
• Fast-paced environment with saws, forklifts, and machining equipment
• PPE provided (fire-retardant shirts, hard hats, etc.)

Available Shifts:

2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

• Overtime: ~5–10 hours per week
• Temporary role with strong potential for long-term placement

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodstock, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.25/hr.
