Position Summary The primary function of the OPS Custodial Worker is to maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, disinfection, and safety of the facility, and to document all work accurately. Responsibilities Strip, wax, buff, mop, scrub, and sweep floors; ensure flooring is clean, disinfected, and sanitized. Maintain equipment and supplies required for custodial duties. Prepare areas, including moving furniture as necessary; provide evening or weekend service for high‑traffic areas. Provide custodial services in assigned homes: scrubbing floors, cleaning blinds, baseboards, applying finish to floors, washing walls, windowsills, sinks, showers, and toilets; vacuuming, shampooing carpets and rugs, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and wiping surfaces such as tables, furniture, and vents. Assist with bed making, trash removal, and other requested tasks. Notify supervisor immediately of work orders and areas of concern; complete required documentation such as supply requisitions. Complete all required training and maintain Sunland’s crisis‑management prevention and intervention certification. Maintain accurate timesheets and submit them timely in accordance with policy and procedure. Perform essential services before, during, and after emergencies, and be prepared to work beyond normal schedules if required. Minimum Qualifications Custodial or janitorial experience (preferred but not required). Professional experience operating commercial floor buffers or burnishers (preferred but not required). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of safety measures for using and storing cleaning supplies. Ability to perform basic housekeeping duties.
