Under the direction of the Fitness and Wellness Director, Personal Trainers will work with a diverse population developing unique and individualized programs that ensure client safety, satisfaction, and enhancement of personal fitness goals. Responsibilities include conducting private and small group personal training sessions. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is responsible for upholding the Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the Ys core values - caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesCreates a welcoming atmosphere for all members which results in relationship building and increased personal training enrollments and member retention.Instruct members on safe and effective exercise techniques, including, but not limited to, warm-up and stretching progression, aerobic conditioning, strength training, proper use of equipment, and workout progression.Provides encouragement and expertise for the client in support of their health and well-being goalsSchedules and conducts appointments according to the clients availabilityAdministers, tracks and evaluates health history questionnaires, fitness assessments and other documentation with regard to individual exercise programs.Promotes and sells personal training programs and services while achieving monthly revenue and session goals.Communicates effectively and efficiently with emails and other forms of communication from supervisors and co-workers.Demonstrates ability to work with all age groups and fitness levels.Follows all Y policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Report incidents and accident reports as necessary.Demonstrates the ability to stand and be mobile majority of work shift.Acts as a positive role model using the YMCAs core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.QualificationsEducation And Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least 21 years old.A degree or background in kinesiology, exercise science, health and human performance, exercise physiology, or related field is preferred.A current nationally accredited Personal Training certification is required upon hire.A current certification in CPR/AED is required.Must have excellent communication and people skills.Equal Opportunity EmployerThe YMCA welcomes a diverse workforceThe Y: We're for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility
