Physical Requirements - Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods including data entry; repetitive motions, and occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 10 lbs.
Shift - Wed, Thu, Fri: 10:45a-11:15p. 36 worked hours per week (three 12.5s). Some holidays are required. Position may be eligible for shift and weekend differentials.

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for: Providing patient arrivals Patient Registration Resolution of patient complaints. Collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source. Information and correction of registration errors. Collection of patient-responsibility payments at time of service (copays, co-insurance, self-pay estimates). Maintaining HIPAA compliant and comply with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Participating in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.

Preferred Education/Experience - Associate degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient registration highly preferred.
