BWD-TWR Grants Analyst

Overview The Department of Forestry & Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking a Grants Analyst I to support grant programs related to workforce development and tribal wildfire resilience efforts. This is a 12‑month limited‑term, full‑time position that may be extended for a second year and could lead to a permanent appointment. Responsibilities Organize and track information, manage records, and maintain accurate data sets related to grants, budgets, and contracts. Use tools such as spreadsheets and grant‑management systems to monitor grant progress and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve shared objectives and provide customer‑service support to internal stakeholders. Support statewide grant programs and contribute to tribal wildfire resilience initiatives through data analysis and reporting. Minimum Qualifications At least two years of related experience in grant administration, budgeting, or financial data management. Proficiency with spreadsheets, database tools, and standard office software. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, organize complex information, and resolve data inconsistencies. Salary and Benefits Salary range: $3,861.00 – $6,276.00 per month. Position is subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP 2025) with a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. Eligibility for hybrid telework; travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
