JOB SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Supervisor will act in the leadership and training capacity. The Supervisor will direct employees and help them to complete their tasks and goals defined by the Housekeeping Manager. The Supervisor is responsible for training employees, ensuring they abide by all policies and procedures. The Supervisor will be responsible for office structure, budgetary administration and employee relations as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. This position is a grade 3/17.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assign Housekeeping Staff to their regular duties or any special assignments that need to be accomplished.
2. Inspect Housekeeping Staff’s work to ensure prescribed standards of cleanliness are being met.
3. Responsible for maintaining housekeeping inventory and submitting purchase requisitions for supplies accordingly.
4. Inspect the housekeeping staff periodically to determine if they are performing assigned tasks in accordance with quality standards and checks places that are likely to be overlooked.
5. Responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of all areas and works alongside the Manager to establish and distribute a cleaning strategy and timetable for every location.
6. Perform timely evaluations of employees along with Housekeeping Manager.
7. Schedule all breaks and monitors the time allotted for each employee.
8. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping services and equipment and takes corrective action.
9. Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies and procedures and demonstrates use and maintenance of equipment.
10. Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have at least 6 (six) months of in-house housekeeping experience.
• Minimum of 1 (one) year prior Supervising experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have excellent attendance.
• Must possess personal attributes of leadership, accountability, initiative, judgement, decision making, prioritization, multi-tasking, delegation, and effective communication.
• Must have organizational skills.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Must be able to take and provide direction in English
• Must have an eye for detail.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including personnel data, gaming regulations and compliance.
• Must remain sensitive to cultural diversity in the workplace.
• Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Sky Ute Casino Staff License.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple priorities successfully.
• Must be able to identify problems, gather data, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Required to have a full range of motion and adequate strength in the use of hands and arms.
• Must have 20/20 vision (with corrective lenses).
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

• Must be able to work in a cold or extreme heat environment.
• Must be able to work with a variety of chemicals and cleaning agents.
• Employee may be exposed to wet conditions, airborne particles that may be toxic or caustic.
• Employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and excessive noise.
• Must be able to constantly work under close surveillance cameras.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Candidate selected for employment will be subject to employment reference and background check.
• Must sign confidentiality agreement at time of hire.
• Must obtain and maintain a Sky Ute Casino Staff License.
• Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino’s Policies & Procedures, Gaming Code Regulations and any applicable policies & regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.
