Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Washington, District of Columbia. This role will oversee critical close activities, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and help ensure financial records are accurate and timely. The ideal candidate brings strong reconciliation experience, solid judgment, and the ability to guide accounts payable activities in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Manage the monthly close cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is recorded accurately.• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper supporting documentation and adherence to accounting standards.• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items to maintain accurate cash reporting.• Provide oversight for accounts payable activities, helping to ensure invoices, approvals, and payments are processed correctly.• Analyze financial transactions and account activity to support accurate reporting and audit readiness.• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accounting workflows and strengthen process consistency.• Assist with reporting deliverables and other accounting projects that support ongoing operational needs.
