If this sounds like a place you want to grow your career, check us out… Our Catering Manager is passionate about working as part of a team to deliver excellent events of all kinds to our guests.Our Catering Manager loves booking, selling, planning and coordinating all banquets, recreation and meeting facilities within Shore Lodge, Whitetail Club and The Cove. This person successfully generates revenue by establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high. They conduct catering sales presentations and catering sales calls and ensure that our clients and their guests receive the product and level of service which meets our exceptional standards in quality.About You:You lead by example and are proud of your time management skills, you are a multi-tasking guru with the exceptional ability to be pulled off task and respond appropriately with follow up.You work with minimal supervision and prioritize your workload successfully juggling multiple priorities.You are acutely aware of the importance in effectively communicating client requests.Your clients say you are a trusted resource and an expert communicator with consistent attention to detail.Your team members enjoy working with you and see your positive contribution in their team environment and as such they remain highly energetic and enthusiastic.What You Get To Do:Take over handling of details of all contracted groups from sales team, group events, weddings, catering only, internal events.Book and coordinate all events involving banquets, transportation requests, recreation venues and meeting facilities.Work closely with reservations team and front desk staff on group lodging needs.Plan details of each booking with the client in a timely and professional manner.Create custom menus to meet the needs of the client being mindful of the efficient flow of other food service venues and departments within the resort.Effectively create detailed and accurate banquet event orders, event schedules and associated group resumes and distribute to all departments in a timely manner.Have all BEOs signed by client prior to distribution to all applicable departments.Review final rooming lists, make special notes for VIPs, arrange for amenities and ensure accurate billing arrangements have been set up.Perform frequent correspondence with clients and maintain on-site communication with client during their event.Ensure product and service level standards are met and are consistent and exceptional in quality.Monitor and work closely with banquet department to ensure the BEO specifications are executed as per contract.Become well versed in all resort operations to be able to assist at all times.Gain an understanding to comfortably navigate the lodge's property management systemMaintain positive presence on behalf of Shore Lodge in the local community.All other duties as assignedRequirements:Bachelor's degree in hospitality related field or equivalent education desired.2 years' experience in a Hotel Catering Sales Manager Role required.Prior experience using Visual One or other SMS system required.An extended comfort level with computers and various MS Office systems.Prior proven abilities in excellent time management and follow through.Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated team building experience.Prior knowledge of food preparation and beverage service techniquesPrior proven sales acumen and an enthusiastic disposition that sells Shore Lodge to perspective clients.
