Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Surgery Manager is responsible for the clinical and operational aspects of the Main Operating Room (MOR). The Manager develops and maintains systems to promote high levels of patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, as well as external customer satisfaction. The Manager assumes 24 hour department accountability. The Manager is responsible for assuring adequate staffing and maintaining appropriate productivity standards. The Manager demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients in designated areas. The Manager provides patient care utilizing the nursing process-assessment, care planning, implementation, and reassessment- for identified population per the Colorado Nurse Practice Act. The Manager documents patient care; coordinates interdisciplinary communication and care; participates on hospital committees; and facilitates unit meetings. The Manager develops and implements unit specific competencies and policies; evaluates performance of staff annually; and supervises RN’s, ST’s, CST’s, Anesthesia Technicians, CNA’s, EVS Techs, and Unit Secretaries. The Manager implements and plans processes to meet SCIP, Core Measures, and HCA Initiatives. The Manager provides coaching and counseling for employees as appropriate; supervises unit scheduling; and monitors and addresses absenteeism. The Manager develops unit specific goals including program development, quality improvements, and patient safety initiatives. The Manager supports and follows Sky Ridge Medical Center (SRMC) policy and procedure. The Manager displays positive support for the values and mission of SRMC.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelors Degree
