Dining and Nutritional Services Assistant Manager

Responsibilities Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and directing functions within the Dining and Nutritional Services Department (including personnel and administrative duties). Demonstrate effective supervisory skills, applying corrective actions fairly and uniformly without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap, or marital status. Establish and maintain effective inter-departmental and inter-professional communication to provide positive working relationships. Comply with established budget restraints. Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment necessary to perform job and in accordance with established departmental budget. Plan and conduct in-service training programs as required. Carry out duties of other Dining and Nutritional Services personnel as needed. Implement departmental procedural guidelines and job descriptions. Participate in the hiring process, including interviewing, screening, and selecting Dining and Nutritional Services associates. Maintain a working knowledge of current licensure standards and the survey process. Review departmental functions to ensure compliance with current standards and procedural guidelines. Promote the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication. Contribute to committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System. Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System. Skills and Abilities Proficient in using a computer, especially Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point. Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills. Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills. Communicate well with other associates, patients, family members, and visitors, providing a warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude. Respond to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor and answer questions in a professional manner. Minimum Qualifications A minimum of an H.S. diploma or its equivalent.
