Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Special Education Teaching License with appropriate endorsements (ADAPTIVE SPED or SPED GENERAL CURRICULUM)
- Experience working with students with autism or moderate to intensive support needs preferred
- Strong classroom management and adaptability in self-contained settings
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students, adapting lessons to meet physical, academic, and behavioral needs
- For North Jackson Elementary: Teach students in an Autism Level 3, self-contained class
- For West Jackson Middle School: Provide instruction in a self-contained ASD Level 1 or adaptive MI/MO classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with district and state regulations
- Assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and data as required
- Engage in regular collaboration with school teams and participate in IEP and staff meetings
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment for all learners
This full-time, onsite position begins July 27, 2026 and concludes May 21, 2027, operating 37.5 hours per week. If you are committed to supporting diverse learners and have a passion for making a significant impact, this special education contract role is an excellent fit.
