Job Description
Our client, a well-established Zanesville law firm, is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support their probate, estate and trust administration and estate planning practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Maintain, organize, and track timelines for probate and trust administration files from intake through final distribution.
Document Preparation: Assist in drafting standard probate petitions, inventory forms, fiduciary accounts, deeds, and asset transfer documents.
Court Filing: Prepare, review, and file legal documents in compliance with local Ohio probate court guidelines.
Client Communication: Serve as a compassionate, professional point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, and financial institutions.
Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, track deadlines, organize physical and digital records, and maintain accurate billing data.
Qualifications:
Experience: 1–3+ years of administrative experience (law firm experience preferred, but professional office background with strong transferable skills will be considered).
Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, high attention to detail, and proficiency with standard office software (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Perfect Form).
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to converse empathetically with families handling sensitive post-death matters.
Discretion: Strict adherence to client confidentiality and professional ethics.
