Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked law firm seeking a 2nd to 3rd year Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Associate to join its New York NY office on an in office basis.

This is a corporate transactional role supporting mergers and acquisitions and private equity matters for sophisticated clients, with steady deal exposure and a fast paced pace typical of an active corporate practice.

The team offers a collegial, partner accessible environment within a large firm platform, with an emphasis on high quality work product, clear communication, and thoughtful collaboration across deal teams.

The Opportunity

You will support a range of mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, including diligence, drafting and negotiating core transaction documents, coordinating closing processes, and advising on related corporate matters as part of integrated deal teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a 2nd to 3rd year Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Associate with:

• 2 to 3 years of law firm experience focused on mergers and acquisitions transactions
• Experience supporting private equity style deal processes, including diligence and transaction execution
• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing
• Excellent academic credentials and strong drafting and communication skills
• A collaborative approach and the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced transactional practice with regular in office presence five days per week

Compensation
