We’re committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’s empowered to be their best.Essential Duties:Purchase maintenance and factory supplies as required.Run MRP and order raw materials as neededMaintain relationships with suppliers.Effectively maintain professional business relationships with suppliers.Acquire supplies that are critical for the success of business operations.Support inventory cycle count programPurchase the proper supplies and materials according to specifications.Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systems.Maintain compliance with all Marmon IEI Environmental, Health and Safety policiesSupport and participate in Lean/5S and process improvement initiatives.Support activities within compliance to ISO Quality System procedures.Provide coverage in the absence of the Sr. BuyerWork as a team with peers, managers and Marmon IEI employees.Responsible for all other projects, tasks, etc., as assigned.Monitoring and adhering to applicable laws, regulations and policies regarding the purchase of goods and servicesEducation and Experience Preferred:Associates Degree in Business or a related discipline related field is preferred.Minimum of 3 years previous experience as a buyer or in a similar positionCertified Purchasing Professional (CPP) is a plus.Knowledge and Skills Preferred:Knowledge of applicable purchasing laws, regulations and policies.Ability to read and interpret production and materials reports.Knowledge of inventory processes and cycle counts.Excellent communication skills.Strong organization and documentation skills.Must be able to perform basic arithmetic, statistics, and other specific mathematical applications.Ability to meet deadlines.Ability to communicate verbally, in writing and interpersonally.Solid knowledge in Microsoft applications and applicable production applications.Must be able to multi-task, follow priorities given, and have strong troubleshooting skills.Self-starter: ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.Experience in Wire and Cable a plusWorking Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.Ability to briefly work in warm and noisy environment while on the production floor.Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbsFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
