Senior Director of Operations

The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing and fulfillment operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer service objectives. This executive leader drives operational strategy, capacity planning, process excellence, inventory accuracy, and distribution performance while building high-performing teams and scalable systems across production, warehousing, and shipping functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the operations strategy for manufacturing, warehousing, and fulfillment in alignment with company goals

• Lead plant and distribution operations with accountability for safety, quality, on-time delivery, labor productivity, and cost performance

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methods to improve throughput, reduce waste, and increase capacity

• Oversee production planning, scheduling, materials flow, inventory control, and order fulfillment to ensure reliable customer service and efficient working capital management

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators such as OEE, scrap, first-pass yield, on-time in-full, order cycle time, inventory accuracy, and cost per unit shipped

• Partner with supply chain, procurement, engineering, quality, finance, and customer service leaders to improve cross-functional execution and resolve operational issues

• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, and quality standards

• Lead capital planning and investments in equipment, automation, systems, and facility improvements to support growth and productivity

• Build and develop a high-performing operations leadership team through coaching, succession planning, and performance management

• Support network optimization, capacity expansion, and operational readiness for new products, customers, or facilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field

• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, fulfillment, or supply chain operations

• Proven success leading multi-site or large-scale operations with responsibility for production, warehousing, and shipping performance

• Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, fulfillment operations, inventory management, and labor planning

• Strong experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and KPI-driven performance management

• Demonstrated ability to lead through change, scale operations, and improve service, quality, and cost outcomes

• Experience with ERP, WMS, and operational reporting systems

• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain

• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent operational excellence training

• Experience with automation, warehouse optimization, and advanced planning systems

• Experience leading facility start-ups, expansions, or major transformation initiatives
