Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring Level I trauma experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I trauma center hospital
• Care for Level 1 trauma patients in the Trauma Bay
• Preferred experience in a 30-bed or larger ED
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assigned area
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required
• TNCC and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital required
• Degree must be from an accredited school or an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools not accepted
• Required to independently function in a Level 1 trauma setting
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/EKG competency assessment

• Deliver emergency nursing care across trauma and general ED patient populations

• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate
• Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Requires completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting and criminal history checks
• Candidates must complete required compliance lab work within 72 hours of signing
• Proof of vaccination status required with no declinations allowed
