Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift Respiratory Care/Stepdown Unit position requiring trauma, neuro, and ventilator management experience.

Details

• Work in a high-acuity Respiratory Care Stepdown Unit within a hospital setting
• Care for acute and chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing needs
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Travel pairs will not be considered

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience required
• Trauma and neuro experience required
• Trauma and stroke assessment experience required
• Strong critical care assessment skills required
• Degree from an accredited nursing school required (or FBON-approved institution with 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience in a US hospital within the past 24 months)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
• Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG competency assessment

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to high-acuity respiratory and stepdown unit patients, including those requiring ventilator support
• Charge RN, SICU, and MICU experience preferred
• Availability for overtime preferred
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• No requests for holidays off permitted
• No extended RTO beyond 4 days
• Must be willing to work in stepdown unit with up to 4:1 ratio if necessary
• This is a smoke-free facility
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered at a lower pay rate
• Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
