Registered Nurse/ODP/Interventional Radiology Paramedic

Registered Nurse/ODP/Interventional Radiology Paramedic We are looking for someone who has the want and the passion to support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, and to consistently demonstrate NNUHs PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity, and Excellence. We operate a seven day a week service from 07:30-18:30 Monday to Friday, providing an On-Call service commitment every day from 18:30-07:30 and all weekend. You are required to live within 30 minutes of the NNUH when On-Call. Full time and Part time hours available. Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC / Health & Care Council Professions Code of Conduct and work within limits of competence. To plan, deliver and evaluate pre-, peri- and post-procedure care to Radiology patients and to liaise with other disciplines and departments over that care. Maintain a high standard of patient care by acting as a professional role model to others. To adhere to the statutory and mandatory regulations of the radiation protection policies. Implement effective assessment and delegation of workload to more junior members of staff. Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care. Maintain accurate records of all care given. Update patient administration systems e.g. PAS to ensure real time data collection and confidentiality. To effectively use information technology for the benefit of patient care in accordance with the Trusts Cyber Code of Conduct. Systems will include Soliton. To maintain confidentiality of information (written, verbal, electronic), whilst being aware of the Freedom for Information Act. To develop the necessary skills to be independent with Cannulation and Venepuncture. To develop the necessary skills to be competent in intravenous medication administration e.g. Conscious Sedation. Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical and nursing personnel, all supporting services, appropriate hospital departments and wards. To ensure the safe custody, supply and administration of drugs and therapeutic substances in accordance with Trust and department policies. To organise safe transfer from in-patient areas to the Radiology department, To act as the patients advocate. To promptly deal with equipment failure in accordance with trust procedure. Ensure own practice is up to date and evidence based and demonstrate an awareness of current, relevant research. Ensure a full working knowledge of all equipment in use in clinical area excluding x-ray equipment. To liaise with the senior sister/charge nurse regarding annual leave and changes of duty times.
