Responsibilities Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools Lift or move materials manually or with hoist or forklift. Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met. Handle powertools; ie: Gas saw, Band saw, and Grinders Maintain a clean as safe work area, use protective equipment as required Communicate appropriately and professionally Qualifications Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed environment Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance Critical thinking to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems. Able to follow both written and verbal instructions Strong organization skills, multi-tasker, and self-starter Knowledge of material handling equipment a plus.
