Pay Compensation
Total Pay Rate: $75/hour
W2 Pay (Taxable): $16/hour
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,124/week (Equivalent to $59/hour)
Weekly Gross Pay (All-Inclusive): Up to $2,700/week
Total Compensation: $75/hour (Taxable Wages + Non-Taxable Stipend)
Overtime Pay: $85/hour (After 40 hours worked)
Job Overview

Big Sky Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) for a 13-week travel assignment in beautiful Big Sky, Montana.

The Emergency Department RN will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries while working collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
Deliver emergency nursing care for patients with acute medical conditions and traumatic injuries.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to physician orders.
Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in clinical status.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Follow evidence-based nursing practices and hospital safety protocols.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency.
Minimum Qualifications
Active Montana Registered Nurse (RN) License
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department or Acute Care RN experience
Current AHA BLS Certification
Current AHA ACLS Certification
Current AHA PALS Certification (or ENPC)
Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Previous Emergency Department, Urgent Care, or Acute Care experience
Experience using Epic Electronic Medical Records
Schedule & Assignment Details
Variable day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
36 guaranteed hours per week
Overtime available
On-call responsibilities may be required
Holiday coverage required
Traveler Requirements
Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler.
The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment due to low census or unforeseen operational needs.
