Quality Technician

Job Title: Quality Technician (Weekend Shift) Responsible for the inspection of incoming, processed, and out-going products including verification of conformance with steel industry and customer specifications. Responsibilities & Duties Performs and records visual and dimensional inspections. Interprets blueprints for inspection processes i.e. inspection plans. Assist with quality training in inspection equipment, policies and procedures. Read and log data through Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Assist Operations Manager in investigations of process related to quality issues. Write non-Conforming Material Reports when required and quarantining products that have been rejected by QA. Provides samples and communication to QA concerning quality issues when required. Assist Quality Engineer with ISIR, PPAP, and capability studies. Ability to Support ISO 9001:2015 practices and procedures across workforce. Completes accurate records (on paper and electronic data) to provide excellent results of data requested. Organizes work and storage areas for efficient workflow and to showcase the quality of work. Support inventory accuracy. Reporting non-conforming to supervisors. Work with purchasing on mill returns/credits. Work with Operations Manager on customer returns on material dispositions. Review all cut orders and attach prints and inspection sheets. Requirements Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both.
