LCSW or LPCC Behavioral Health ED Clinical Liaison - Psychiatric Emergency Services PRN

Summary Provides psychiatric screening assessments for Emergency Department patients and via telemedicine, including risk assessment, referral to appropriate level of care, and assessment to determine need for inpatient detoxification. Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric screening assessments for emergency department patients. Perform risk assessment and refer patients to appropriate level of care. Determine need for inpatient detoxification and dual‑diagnosis evaluation. Communicate with ED providers, nursing staff, charge nurses, on‑call psychiatrists, unit staff, collateral sources, registration department, and insurance authorization personnel to ensure timely and comprehensive assessments and safe dispositions. Perform the therapeutic process for each patient, including assessment, diagnosis (when qualified), care planning, intervention, counseling patients and significant others in crisis, making referrals, and evaluation of unmet needs. Work in a fast‑paced and dynamic emergency department environment that handles high‑acuity patients. Qualifications Licensed LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC in New Mexico. Master’s degree in a relevant field. Experience and competency in psychiatric evaluation and treatment within an emergency department setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
