Adjunct Chemistry Instructor, Gen Ed Sci

Overview As a General Education Faculty member at West Coast University, you will guide healthcare students and help them change the lives of every patient they treat throughout their careers. Responsibilities Serve as a mentor, role model, and facilitator who provides guidance and academic support for students. Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching, the teaching/learning process, and for individual students. Apply your skills and experience to your assigned teaching schedule. Participate in and contribute to assessment activities of courses, curriculum, and programs via a continuous improvement plan set forth by the university. Regularly contribute to the improvement of class materials and syllabi within a shared governance culture. Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to instruct students, always with intent to facilitate observable evidence of student fulfillment of prescribed learning outcomes. Maintain scholarly activities. Participate in professional growth and service in accordance with university policies. Advance our commitment and focus on the students we serve and their success as healthcare professionals. Fully leverage our innovative technologies and resources. Experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office products as needed. A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in the subject areas taught or prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher education program or comparable training program. Experience working with online learning management systems to engage the student learning process. Training in educational methods, testing, and evaluation. Strength in instructional methodology, delivery, and techniques. Education Master’s degree in the specialty field required. If applicable, certification(s) in area(s) of specialization required. Education and experience must align with state regulations and comply with the rules and regulations of state authorization agencies.
