Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a paraprofessional in a contract position close to Kings Mountain, NC. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about helping children learn and thrive in a school environment. Work closely with educators to assist students in reaching their full potential while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or working with children and adolescents
- Ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Understanding of school routines, classroom management, and instructional support methods
- Patience, flexibility, and reliability in diverse classroom settings
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional coursework or certification as a paraprofessional is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students in academic and behavioral tasks, per teacher directions
- Assist with individualized and group instruction under the supervision of certified staff
- Help implement classroom management strategies and maintain a positive learning environment
- Support students with special needs, adapting materials and approaches as needed
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks
- Prepare educational materials and help organize classroom resources
- Collect data and document student progress as requested by instructional staff
