Commercial Litigation Associate (4th–7th Year)

Direct Counsel is representing a reputable law firm seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate (4th–7th Year) to join its Phoenix office.

This opportunity is ideal for a litigation associate interested in handling sophisticated, high-stakes commercial litigation matters within a collaborative national platform. The role offers hands-on experience in complex litigation, significant client interaction, and the opportunity to work closely with cross-office teams on challenging disputes.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex legal issues and draft briefs, motions, and other litigation filings
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy
• Prepare for, take, and defend depositions
• Assist with trial preparation, including:
• Direct and cross-examination outlines
• Trial exhibits
• Witness preparation
• Manage discovery, including document review, production, and written discovery responses
• Work with experts and assist with overall case management
• Collaborate directly with clients and litigation teams on sophisticated matters

Qualifications:

• 4–7 years of commercial litigation experience
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Experience handling sophisticated litigation matters and motion practice
• Deposition and trial preparation experience preferred
• Strong case management and organizational skills
• Ability to work strategically and directly with clients
• Law Review/Journal experience and/or judicial clerkship preferred
• Strong academic credentials required
• Must be admitted to practice in Arizona
