Water Engineer Summer Intern

Role description:

We are currently seeking an engineering intern to join our Water Business Line in our Austin or San Antonio office!

We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Our team assists municipalities and private clients with designing and constructing resilient infrastructure for their water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. Role accountabilities:

In this role, responsibilities include evaluating, planning, and designing projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance. You will also be responsible for assessing, developing, and supporting the design of facilities and infrastructure by assisting with field investigations, performing calculations, writing technical memos, assembling drawings, writing specifications, and helping with construction phase services. You will also be involved in troubleshooting processes and optimizing operations. This role involves problem solving and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned, you will also:

• Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings.
• Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.
• Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.S. and internationally.
• Learn and use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or another closely related academic discipline.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater, water resources, or related sectors.
• EIT certification.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $22.00 - $31.00 / hour. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
