Assignment Overview Job Title: Locum Tenens Gastroenterology Physician (Outpatient) Location: Multiple outpatient facilities in Georgia (Gwinnett County and surrounding areas) A healthcare organization in Georgia is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Gastroenterology physician for a locum tenens assignment to provide supplemental outpatient coverage across multiple clinic locations. Start Date: ASAP End Date: July 31, 2026 Schedule: Scheduled clinical hours only (no call required) EMR System: Epic Patients per Day: Approximately 12 Coverage Type: Supplemental Facility Details No hospital or surgery center privileges required Stroke-certified facility Clinical Responsibilities Outpatient gastroenterology care Perform and interpret procedures including: Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, and bleeding control) Colonoscopy (with biopsy and polyp excision) Sigmoidoscopy (flexible) Esophageal manometry interpretation Small bowel biopsy Lower GI endoscopy Admissions required; no inpatient rounding Requirements Active Georgia medical license (required at time of submission) Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology Board certification must align with specialty Support & Staffing No supervision of advanced practice providers required No teaching or resident supervision required Credentialing Estimated timeframe: 21 days Call Coverage No call responsibilities Additional Notes Only one provider will be accepted for this assignment No reimbursement for licensing costs Standard U.S. holidays observed: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas If you are interested in a stable outpatient assignment with a manageable patient volume and no call requirements, this opportunity offers a great long-term placement in a well-supported clinical environment.
