Database Administration Manager (Onsite Role)

Job Summary: The Manager Database Administration will direct development of a single crucial IT platforms and processes and contribute to strategic decisions that support long-term IT objectives.This role will be based in Springfield Missouri, Remote work is not an optionResponsibilities and Duties: Direct and oversee infrastructure developments and maintenance to ensure business requirements can be met.Lead definition of architectural standards for all technology services and components (applications, data, integration, technology, security, business). Present business and IT leaders with signature-ready recommendations for adjusting policies and projects to achieve target business outcomes that capitalize on relevant digital disruptions.Document the most complex "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.Develop a strategic architecture plan, ensuring that data features are prioritized appropriately, estimates are reliable, benefits can be realized, and design activities are proactively monitored and tracked to meet planned time frames and the overall architecture plan.Elicit the most-complex business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.Develop straightforward business cases to quantify current costs, justify project investment, and identify the return on investment.Lead in detecting and analyzing security incidents, including attacks, breaches, and identified vulnerabilities, and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.Manage complex technical troubleshooting projects, ensuring effective diagnosis of complex technical issues with equipment and experiments and the development of effective solutions.Provide advice, training, and assistance to users and clients to resolve complex queries and ensure the product and service capabilities are well understood and implemented in the context of the business.Design distribution of complex database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database applications for optimum performance.Approve database specifications, ensuring all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.Install and test the most complex databases and associated products to ensure they are suitable for use and meet customer requirements.Skills:Required:Determine and analyze trends from data that is collected to assist in compiling reports that will help in decision-making.Design, execute and report on systems/service tests to ensure that an application functions as specified in the requirements.Design architectures, incorporating system/ service requirements.Design, implement, administer, maintain, and manage databases.Use storage media and data migration solutions and tools.Acquire, organize, protect and process data in order to fulfill business objectives.Use database reporting tools and techniques.Create and run queries and interact with various database interfaces and query languages.Monitor, diagnose and fix problems with technology products.Conduct an enterprise readiness assessment to determine the organization's readiness for change.Understand business context, needs, rules, and architecture, as well as organizational structure, cultures, capabilities, and processes to document the current state of processes and the business.Maintain system/service and information security, integrity, compliance and continuity.Use data compression tools and techniques to reduce the size of data with minimal loss of information.Express user needs in terms of business requirements, identify current capability of the business to deliver, conduct build or buy analyses, and recommend preferred approach.Set up and manage computer network clusters.Preferred:Education: Master's Degree or Equivalent LevelExperience: Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (10 years to 15years)Managerial Experience: Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework.
