Senior Learning Specialist – USC Athletics Senior Learning Specialist is responsible for providing academic support to student‑athletes and will perform other duties as assigned by the Director. Responsibilities include working in collaboration with USC’s Athletic Department, Office of Student Accessibility Services, and other campus departments to enhance the academic success of student‑athletes. Responsibilities Provide academic support to a caseload of student‑athletes with the goal of them developing into self‑regulated learners. Develop academic support plans for individual student‑athletes and monitor their academic progress. Maintain constant communication with SAAS staff regarding the student‑athletes you support. Assist in mentoring Assistant Learning Specialists. Take on administrative roles/responsibilities within the tutorial program as needed. Continuously grow and develop knowledge of how to assist students with learning differences. Follow NCAA compliance guidelines and adhere to USC’s academic integrity policies. Have a general understanding of NCAA eligibility requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or alter duties at any time. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Learning Specialist in post‑secondary education (3 years preferred). Experience providing specialized academic support to students with learning differences/disabilities. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Teamworks and web‑based applications. Experience working in higher education and/or a sports‑related field is ideal. Strong commitment to USC’s Unifying Values. Compensation & Schedule Salary: $70,304.00. Exempt position with standard work hours Monday‑Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm, with additional evening hours required for at least one night per week.
