Position: High School English Teacher
Start Date: August, 2026
Location: Shanghai

Salary: 28k-31k/month before tax, depending on qualification and experience;

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Planning and Delivering Lessons:

Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the IB/Cambridge English A Language and Literature or English B standards;
Plans well-prepared written curriculum and engaging lessons in advance of teaching as per the Curriculum Planning and Review Process;
Effectively and appropriately uses digital tools and technology to improve student learning;

Assessment and Evaluation:

Sets, marks, and provides feedback on work in line with the Assessment Policy;
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student performance;

Student Support and Guidance:

Differentiates in accordance with students’ needs and abilities, particularly with regards to ESL in accordance with the Language Policy and Inclusive Education Policy;
Plans appropriate intervention for students who require additional learning support;
Understands the Academic Honesty policy and promotes a culture of integrity ;

Professional Development:

Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field of IB English education, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base;

Communication and Collaboration:
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and improvement of English curriculum;
Participate in school meetings and contribute to the broader school community;

Requirements/Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in English, or related field is required; a master’s degree or higher is preferred;
Teachers are required to have at least 2-years-full-time-experience in teaching;
A recognized teaching certification, with a specialization in English language and literature;
Serves as an effective team member in a cross-cultural, bilingual school environment, being sensitive and respectful to different perspectives;
A deep understanding of the IB English curriculum and assessment requirements;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational best practices;
The ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment;
The ability to communicate using some Mandarin is a plus.
