High School English Teacher

We are looking for an English Literature & Academic Writing Teacher for an International high school located in Guangzhou. This position is available in August 2026.About the roleWe are seeking a committed English teacher to deliver British and American Literature and Academic Writing to upper secondary students preparing for overseas university study. You will also develop students’ close-reading, critical thinking, research, and academic writing skills aligned with university expectations.Teach British and American Literature for Grades 10–12Deliver Academic Writing courses (argumentation, research writing, citation, rhetorical analysis)Support preparation for AP, A-Level, or other international assessments (where applicable)Design schemes of work, assessments, and grading rubrics aligned with international standardsProvide clear, detailed feedback on essays and extended writingSupervise extended research projects (e.g., coursework, capstone essays)Facilitate high-quality classroom discussion grounded in close reading and textual analysisContribute to curriculum development and collaborate with the department teamQualificationsBachelor’s degree or above (Master’s preferred) in English Literature, Comparative Literature, or a related fieldMinimum 2 years of secondary or post-secondary teaching experienceFamiliarity with MLA / APA / Chicago citation systemsAbility to guide students in academic research and thesis developmentExperience teaching international or ESL studentsSalary and benefitsMonthly salary of 25,000 to 30,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualificationsResidence and work permit sponsoredSummer and winter holidaysPublic holidaysMedical insuranceOther benefits
